The good news is… My art cards arrived. Hurray! The bad news is, one of the three was printed incorrectly! Grr!! It’s a horizontal image and it was squished and printed VERTICALLY on the card! Anyway… I have them for sale… For… like… munny. I haven’t decided on a price yet. But if you’re interested, let me know! I will sell them here privately, and I will sell them on Etsy. I will not be selling them on ebay because their fees are unreasonable for items of small cost. The two available prints are Barong I and Untitled and Alone. I will have fresh pictures of the cards available soon.

Going green is fashionable, but dyeing our clothes has remained a decidedly eco-unfriendly practice. Now, British scientists have developed a way to grow harmless algae to add color to fabric and paint. The algae, called diatoms, are single-celled organisms that are unique because they pack iridescent shells. The hard silica shells act like crystals — depending on the configuration of the holes in the shell, the color changes. The perception of color is maintained without altering the chemical composition of fabric, which is a fundamentally different way of producing color. Alexis Madrigal
A few months ago I came upon an article on wired.com that was about the creation of eco-friendly dyes. I’ve been thinking about it lately and thinking about how great it’d be to be able to do artwork with eco-friendly materials, so I went back and dug up the article for you viewing pleasure.

I have felt the need to do some printmaking these past few days. I NEED to do some printmaking. So after doing some research on different techniques, I’ve decided to stick to linoleum reliefs instead of branching out to woodblock. As interesting as woodblock printing seems to be, I just don’t have the gumption to start it up, with learning the right way of the process, and getting a whole new set of tools, etc.
For those of you who know about my Zodiac Project, I will be starting it up again, however I’m skipping ahead to possibly Pisces or Aries, or even as far as Taurus. It may take me that long to decide what method to use for these prints. I may very well do relief prints, but I do enjoy lithography, however messy it can be.
Either way, my prints won’t be giant 14×14 squares or anything. In fact, I plan to redo the Scorpio on a smaller scale so that it’s not as large and cumbersome. It was just way too big and caused problems and inconsistency in printing… not to mention that I stink at silkscreen anyway. So that was just… a horrible experience.
ANYWAY, I came upon this article on the Daniel Smith site about how artist Pamela Conway Caruso has a unique method to creating Watercolor Intaglio prints.
Becoming inspired by such an idea, I decided to order some plastic plates and watercolor pencils (and more linoleum) so that I may begin my new season of creativity and try my hand at it.
I’m very excited.

Okay so I installed a cute plugboard where you can add your own button link to your site. Hurray!! Time for shameless plugs!!
Also, I want more links on my link page. So comment or contact me so I can add you. Yay!
This is a way for me to display just how (un)popular I am, and how much traffic this site doesn’t get.
Also I changed out that lightbox feature which seemed to be awfully buggy for a sweet Fancy Zoom script that already shows off how less buggy it is.
