Book Arts Assignment: Make something out of a book!

This is a copy of Vampire Hunter D Vol. 1. My foster dog chewed up the dust cover and a few pages inside a few months ago but I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away because A) it’s vampire hunter d. I adore the artwork. And 2) i hadn’t yet bought myself a replacement copy.

Inspired by the whole vamiric story, I decided to turn it into a sculpture. I used a very light brown stain, and then a buncha red inks. Pardon the kitchen floor!

I’m having a hard time coming up with a title and I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions!!

Vampire Hunter Jeep!

Alright so I started a new sculpture. I’ve also added a small tutorial about building an armature for a papier maché sculpture! You can find them in the How-tos section.

It’s not much, but it makes me feel accomplished. I also added 3 old pieces to the gallery.
